FAQ
What is the difference between markup and margin?
Markup is profit as a percentage of cost; margin is profit as a percentage of the selling price. A $40 item sold for $60 has a 50% markup and a 33.33% margin.
How do I calculate selling price from markup?
Selling price = cost x (1 + markup / 100). A $50 cost with a 40% markup sells for $70.
